Plastinka is an independent label specializing in Finnish pop/rock music sung in english. As a truly small label Plastinka releases no more than a couple of albums inside a year's span. The small artist roster gives our small staff the ability to fully concentrate on each individual release. PLASTINKA works under the wings of MUSICMAKERS, a music production company found in 1983.

PLASTINKA was founded in 2000 by Kalle Chydenius and Kim Kuusi, both professional record producers working at Musicmakers with music of diverse styles and purposes. The need for a record label of their own came into being when Kemopetrol's debut "Slowed Down" seemed to gain no interest among Finnish record companies, either small or international. The album was Plastinka's first release, in early 2000.
