The new album takes a giant step towards rock, approaching the feel and adrenalin of live performance. There is now more song, more electricity and more drive – without forgetting the softer moments.
Different dimensions are also brought to the album by two new band songs, almost entirely realized within the Sariola family. Petteri’s brother, producer Jyri Sariola, plays drums. Jyri also strongly influenced the birth of the album SILENCE!. Backing vocals are by second cousin Heini Ikonen. Petteri's bass idol, Doug Wimbish, who has worked with the Rolling Stones, also guests on the album.

Our new album Kevät has sold gold (15.000 copies) in Finland in just six weeks after its release. The album has also spent each of these weeks in the Top 6 of the Finnish album charts and is still going strong. We have, though, definitely worked hard to promote the album; last week we finished our tour of 18 concerts all around Finland that gathered 10.000 attendants altogether and can easily be described successful.

Pop mastermind Samuli Laiho's new band SOUL TATTOO has signed a recording contract with Plastinka Records. They will enter the studio in May to start work on their still unnamed debut album. SOUL TATTOO reunites most of the members of Hearthill, a hugely succesful band from the late 80's. Samuli Laiho, the songwriter/guitarist of the band states about the birth of the new band: - Studying contemporary music, composing for the theatre and writing pop songs for various artists was a decade-long period of seeking out the boundaries of my musical self-expression. Somewhere along the way I just got the feeling I had to grab the guitar and go back to the basics - let the inner rhythm guide me. I found myself with a good bunch of down-to-earth rock songs, but lacking proper lyrics...
To tackle the lyrics, Laiho hooked up with his old bandmate, vocalist/lyricist J. Sydänmäki in winter 2003, sparking up an old collaboration which bursted into a full flame when their former bandmates bassist Jukkis Kiviniemi and drummer Sasu Moilanen joined the group in the spring of 2004. Reunited as SOUL TATTOO the band is now determined to claim their fame as one the most talented and mesmerising rock groups that have come out of Finland this year. |

"Vares - a private eye" is a film by Aleksi Mäkelä. The band MIAMI is featured on the sountrack of one of this year's prominent summer best-sellers in the cinema, "Vares - a private eye". The film, with premiere on 22nd July, will be preceded by the release of a soundtrack compilation, on which PLastinka Records' latest addition MIAMI will have a slot. The song "Sade ei lakkaa", a beautifully airy pop song, is heard in the film as an instrumental version in the background of an intensive love scene. This hopefully leaves all spectators with a need to hear more about this hypnotically spacey pop sound - the pleasure of hearing the voice of the band's vocalist Maija Kinnunen sure makes buying the single truly worthwhile!
